Freudian slip? Cher accidentally says to vote Republican, then calls ‘reality star’ Trump ‘kind of sexy’

Cher finds President Trump to be an “amazing actor” and appeared to slip up and say she’d vote Republican in a an MSNBC interview on the eve of the midterm elections.

Speaking by phone with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews on Monday, the pop superstar had a momentary slip as she began to unload on Trump.

“Tell my why you think people ought to vote tomorrow and how,” the “Hardball” host asked.

“Well, I’d vote for a Republican,” Cher replied.

“I mean I would vote for Democrat because I just believe that, you know, he’s shown who he was,” the 72-year-old singer and actress continued.

“Everyone says this, he’s a liar. He uses hate. He uses fear,” Cher said. “You know, I’ve said this a million times, but I think that when a man can take children away from their parents and put them in cages, and he suffers no consequences, then I don’t understand how we’re America anymore.”

When Matthews asked about her thoughts on Trump getting “52 percent of the white vote, of white women last time,” Cher replied simply, “I haven’t got a clue.”

She went on to attack the president as a “misogynist” and a good “liar.”

“He’s such a misogynist. Secondly, he would take away the things that I have fought for since I was a young woman,” she said.

“And what I think is that a lot of these women, they’re just voting straight Republican. He was a reality star, and he seems very kind of sexy or something. Also, he promises whatever,” Cher continued.

Ironically, she also said that Trump would make a great actor (like her liberal cohorts?), because he’s such a good liar.

“It’s like, I’ve never seen anybody lie so good. He would be the greatest actor because you can’t really tell when he’s lying and when he’s telling the truth, and I find that actually amazing,” she added. “I’ve never seen anyone do that.”

Matthews praised the singer for her efforts to help get people to the polls as she shared that in cities in Florida, North Dakota and Georgia, she is helping arrange bus rides for voters to get to polling stations. Cher interjected that she does not understand how Republicans are “getting away with” making it “harder and harder and harder to vote.”

“You know why?” Matthews declared. “Because they’re shrinking and that’s the only way they know they’re gonna win.”

Musing about her MSNBC interview on Twitter, Cher noted that her “hand got tired of holding the phone” as she thought about Trump’s “MANY CHARACTER FLAWS.”

The anti-Trump singer who famously announced in 2015 that she would be “moving to Jupiter” if Trump was elected,  has held nothing back on Twitter as she has raged against the president, most recently in all-caps tweets ahead of the elections, warning “VOTE OR SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES.”

“I have been alive through 13 Presidencies and I never thought my vote would be a matter of life or death,” she said in another tweet.
