Michael Moore scolds Pelosi for predicting election, warns we must respect Trump’s ‘evil genius’

Michael Moore took aim at House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi for her premature predictions of the midterm election.

The liberal filmmaker called out the California Democrat while appearing on NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”

“What is the message you give to the non-voters to get them out the door this coming Tuesday,” Meyers asked Moore who was filling out his own absentee ballot while on the set of the talk show.

“I don’t think it works to, like, shame them or wag your finger at them. I think you should listen to them and find out why they’re not voting,” Moore responded. “I’m guessing most people that don’t vote that stay home, do it because they are just — they have given up, the system has failed them. They don’t see any difference between the candidates.”

Meyers asked for his thoughts about next week’s midterms, pointing out that Moore had predicted President Donald Trump’s 2016 election victory.

“Well, I’m not going to make the mistake that someone else made on a late night show a couple nights ago,” Moore replied, referring to Pelosi’s appearance on “The Late Show” earlier in the week where she declared that Democrats would “win” back the House.

“A Democrat, who just automatically announced, ‘We’re gonna win.’ And it’s like, ‘My God.’ That’s what happened in 2016,” Moore continued.

“Everybody was throwing the party for Hillary before the election. And I think some people stayed home. I think some people didn’t think- even The New York Times on Election Day in 2016 in that box where they predict said there was only a 15% chance today of Trump winning the presidency,” he said.

Moore called for an end to the “predicting nonsense” and for citizens to do their “job.”

“So you’ve got to throw all that out. You have to quit this kind of predicting nonsense and you just got to do your job as a citizen,” Moore said. “Everybody has to get off the bench this time.”

He also noted that Trump “outsmarted us” in the 2016 presidential election.

“Please remember that Donald Trump outsmarted us. He outsmarted us in 2016. And won the White House by losing the election. That takes a certain kind of evil genius to figure that out,” he said.

“So don’t think for a second that come Tuesday, they don’t have every intention of holding on to the House and the Senate,” he added.  “And they are good at what they do. And you should respect the fact that — that they are able to get away with this.”
