Roseanne Barr lashed out at her former cast mates for throwing her “under the bus” after her hit television show was cancelled by ABC.
Soon after the announcement by ABC following controversial tweets by Barr that were condemned by many as being allegedly racist, other cast members of “Roseanne” spoke out on Twitter, putting distance between themselves and the show’s namesake.

Sara Gilbert, who played Barr’s TV daughter and was an executive producer of the newly-rebooted show, was quick to react on Twitter after the network announcement.
This is incredibly sad and difficult for all of us, as we’ve created a show that we believe in, are proud of, and that audiences love— one that is separate and apart from the opinions and words of one cast member.

Roseanne’s recent comments about Valerie Jarrett, and so much more, are abhorrent and do not reflect the beliefs of our cast and crew or anyone associated with our show. I am disappointed in her actions to say the least.

Barr reacted to Gilbert’s tweets and retweeted it on her own account.
Wow! unreal.

no, I understand her position and why she said what she said. i forgive her. It just shocked me a bit, but I indeed fucked up.

She also reacted to a rather lengthy statement from Michael Fishman, who played Barr’s TV son on the hit sitcom.
i created the platform for that inclusivity and you know https://t.co/hViHPX2ZUb. You throw me under the bus. nice!

“Today is one of the hardest in my life. I feel devastated, not for the end of the Roseanne show, but for all those who poured their hearts and souls into our jobs, and the audience that welcomed us into their homes,” Fishman wrote. “Our cast, crew, writers, and production staff strived for inclusiveness, with numerous storylines designed to reflect inclusiveness. The words of one person do not exemplify the thinking of all involved.”
The 65-year-old actress set off a wave of criticism after tweeting what she said was a “joke,” saying former White House adviser Valerie Jarrett was the love child of the Muslim Brotherhood and “Planet of the Apes.” Despite Barr following up with apologies, the show’s consulting producer, Wanda Sykes, announced she would not be returning for the second season and ABC announced Tuesday afternoon that it was cancelling the show.

“Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said in a statement.
Barr returned to Twitter Tuesday night and asked not to be defended, blaming her “egregious” and “indefensible” mistake on “ambien tweeting.” She also noted that she thought Jarrett was Saudi, not black and announced she would be defending herself.

But many did come to the star’s defense, calling ABC’s decision a political hit job against Barr and blasting her co-stars for only thinking of covering their own backsides.
This is when you find out who your real friends are.

Can not believe these people throwing you under the bus, this was your extended family. SMH. They are trying to cover their asses. Shame!

Yeah, the backbone of a jellyfish. It doesn’t take much effort to spew leftist talking points.

If you actually knew her you’d know she isn’t racist. Watching her weak willed co-stars do this to her is utter BS.

I was very sorry your tv family did not stand behind you Roseanne, I can only imagine how hurtful that must be for you. I mean they must know you are not racist because surely if you were they never would have worked with you, the best is yet to come for you.
