I’m calling BS on YOU, media: After hostile CNN town hall, Dana Loesch takes fight to CPAC

Radio host Dana Loesch laid an epic smack-down on mainstream media hypocrites who slam conservatives for the Parkland, Florida, school shooting, but obsessively provide wall-to-wall coverage of such tragedies because they’re ratings cash cows.

“I’m going to say something that some people are going to say is ‘controversial,’” Loesch said. “Many in legacy media love mass shootings. You guys love it! I’m not saying you love the tragedy. But I am saying that you love the ratings.”

Loesch continued: “Crying white mothers are ratings gold. And notice I said ‘crying white mothers’ because there are thousands of grieving black mothers in Chicago every weekend and you don’t see town halls for them do you?”

Loesch was referring to the steady stream of daily/weekly shootings in Chicago, which has among the toughest gun-control laws in the United States, but constantly remains in the top three cities vying for Murder Capital of the nation.

Knowing she would be excoriated by the media for her stinging statements, Loesch stared down members of what she called the “legacy media” in the back of the room and told them they could write whatever they wanted about her, but warned she would not be silenced. “I call BS!” she said to cheers.

Loesch, who was roundly booed at a contrived CNN town hall to address gun control, pointed out that most of the mass shootings had one common denominator: Epic FBI incompetence.

“Washington Navy Yard; Garland, Texas; Ft. Hood; Charleston; Boston; San Bernandino; Orlando; Parkland. Do you know what all of these mass tragedy incidents involved? The FBI dropped the ball. They dropped the ball.”

Loesch explained: “In Charleston, this murderer was able to pass a background check even though he was a prohibited possessor because, as former FBI Director James Comey, said they [the FBI] made a mistake. It was a paperwork error.

She added: “My condemnation is for those at the FBI, who dropped the ball eight separate times with catastrophic consequences. You know, James Comey, when he wasn’t busy taking directions from Loretta Lynch as to what to call Hillary Clinton’s investigation or writing his self-aggrandizing memoirs…maybe if he politicized your agency less and your job more, we wouldn’t have these problems.”

Loesch raises a good point that millions of Americans agree with. Nikolas Cruz’s Valentine’s Day massacre would have not happened if local police or the FBI had followed up on numerous credible tips alerting them that the 19-year-old was mentally unstable, homicidal, and had repeatedly bragged about wanting to shoot up a school.

Stunning new revelations show that the armed security guard at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School never went into the school once he learned Cruz was shooting people inside. What’s more, the security cameras inside the school were on a 20-minute delay, so law enforcement couldn’t even rely on them to track down the killer.

Dana Loesch told a raucous, enthusiastic CPAC audience that she will never give up her guns because she doesn’t trust the government to protect her.

“I wanna make the super-obvious point: The government has proven they cannot keep you safe, and yet some people want all of us to disarm,” she said. “You heard that town hall last night–they cheered the confiscation of fire arms, and it was 5,000 people.”

Loesch noted that she needed her own armed security detail just to get out of the town hall that CNN had hosted because the liberal audience was so hostile toward her.

“I had to have a security detail to get out,” she recalled. “I wouldn’t have been able to exit that if I did not have a security detail. There were people rushing the stage and screaming ‘burn her!’”

Loesch reminded conservatives to stand their grounds and fight for what they believe, because they are on the right side of history.

“We are conservatives. We have the superior product,” Loesch said. “We don’t have to rationalize why we believe what we believe. We don’t need platitudes and ‘red meat’ because we have the superior product — the proven superior product.”
