Producers freak out when Meghan McCain starts to unload on co-hosts, tells Whoopi to cut her off

Producers on “The View” ordered Whoopi Goldberg to cut off Meghan McCain as she rebuked her co-hosts over disparaging comments made about Vice President Mike Pence’s Christian faith.

“This is what they’ve asked me to do,”  Goldberg announced as she attempted to stop McCain’s condemnation of the women over the controversy stirred up  days before when Joy Behar suggested Pence might have a “mental illness” because he believed that Jesus is talking to him.

McCain had had enough of the inane discourse from her co-hosts as Behar insisted her comments were just a bad joke and not intended to offend anyone. But plenty of Christians did not find the insult humorous and even Pence had fired back, calling out ABC for employing “an anti-Christian bigot.”

“I’m a Christian. I gave — I give money to the church,” Behar declared Thursday. “You know? I mean, I actually help Christians with my pocketbook. So I’m not insulting Christians.”

As the women launched into their debate defending Behar, McCain finally got a chance to unload about their hypocritical version of tolerance, admitting that “there’s going to be a point in time when I probably say something on this show that gets everybody riled up.”

This was apparently that “point in time.”

“I’ve had a very hard time the last two days with this. My in-laws are evangelical. My entire family are devoutly Christian. If you watch the segment, I’m so uncomfortable. I think Sherri even made a comment about how uncomfortable I looked at the time,” McCain said.

“And I think we’re living in incredibly divisive times right now. We all know that. But I think as a Republican, I feel like sometimes liberals say, ‘We need to be tolerant of everyone. We need to be tolerant of everyone. Except pro-lifers, except Trump supporters, except gun owners, except for everyone in the red in the middle of the country,” she continued before Goldberg interrupted.

“I think that’s — I’m going to stop you because that’s not — that’s not actually true,” Goldberg interjected, as the audience applauded. “And I don’t want to — And I’m stopping you for a reason. I’m stopping you for a reason.”

McCain made an attempt  to finish her thoughts but Goldberg continued to try to stop her, talking over her co-host in a telling remark.

“We don’t want to talk about liberals and what they’re doing and everything,” Goldberg said as she revealed the true source of the directions.

“I’m trying to get out of this because this is what they’ve asked me to do,” she said, indicating with her eyes that she was following backstage directions. “So, if you could do it sort of quickly…”

McCain was visibly frustrated and sighed as she concluded with an apology to the vice president.

“I would like to move forward. I think we would all like to collectively move forward,” she said. “I am a big admirer of Mike Pence and his family, and I would like to apologize to him and his family in particular.”

The overt reactions from ABC’s producers and the co-hosts at “The View” after McCain piled up a heaping plate of truth proved again how liberals can dish it out but can’t take it.
