MSNBC pundit Anand Giridharadas trashed President Trump and America’s “rape culture” while discussing the resignations of two White House aides amid domestic violence accusations.
“This is a rape-culture presidency, and Donald Trump has become the commander-in-chief of American rape culture,” Giridharadas told MSNBC’s Joy Reid.

Giridharadas, a former New York Times correspondent, was reacting to reports that White House Staff Secretary Rob Porter had physically abused his two ex-wives. Porter was ousted once chief of staff John Kelly learned he had lied about the allegations. Days afterward, White House speechwriter David Sorensen resigned because of similar charges.
Anand Giridharadas, a visiting scholar at New York University, seized upon the opportunity to accuse America of being a “rape culture,” and said Trump supporters encourage and condone rape.
“This week was a turning point because I think we’re starting to realize that Trumpism doesn’t merely tolerate sexual abuse,” Giridharadas said. “Sexual abuse is a very apt metaphor for everything Trumpism is.”
Giridharadas explained: “The cultivation of fear in everyone. The insistence that people are loving it when you’re actually degrading, and dehumanizing them, and making their lives harder. The state of constant insecurity that you create in others and then the inversion of your own insecurities into this attempt to dominate others.”
White House advisor Kellyanne Conway, who said she has no reason to doubt Rob Porter’s former wives, pointed out that Democrats and other liberals lionized Bill Clinton despite multiple accusations of rape and sexual assault against the former president (see the alleged victims’ photos below).

“[Many Democrats] protected, defended and harbored a sitting president who had sexual relations in the Oval Office and was impeached for lying,” Conway told ABC News.
Giridharadas dismissed Conway’s comments. “She will say anything for money,” he sniffed.
Juanita Broaddrick and Paula Jones, two of Bill Clinton’s alleged victims, have said it’s laughable that Democrats are suddenly condemning sexual abuse when they didn’t lift a finger to help them when they were victims of rape and sexual harassment.
I was 35 years old when Bill Clinton, Ark. Attorney General raped me and Hillary tried to silence me. I am now 73….it never goes away.

“No human being was protected more than Bill Clinton was,” Broaddrick told Fox News. “And no human being was more harassed and ridiculed and trashed as Bill Clinton’s victims were.”
Paula Jones agreed the liberal hypocrisy is stunning. The former Arkansas state employee sued Bill Clinton for sexual harassment in 1994 when he was president, saying he had harassed her when he was governor of Arkansas.

Jones’ lawsuit uncovered the bombshell revelations that Clinton had an affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. In 1998, Clinton settled Paula’s lawsuit by paying her a whopping $850,000 (that’s equivalent to $1.27 million today).
“They ridiculed us, we were called all kind of names,” Jones said. “We were not believed.”
