President Trump won over a vocal critic after his successful State of the Union address Tuesday night.

Pollster Frank Luntz took to Twitter to admit he may have been wrong about Donald Trump. Although Luntz took an apprehensive tone saying his feeling may “go away tomorrow,” he acknowledged that was “moved and inspired” by Trump’s address and said that he owed the president an apology.
Tonight, I owe Donald Trump an apology. Tonight, I was moved and inspired. Tonight, I have hope and faith in America again.
It may go away tomorrow…
But tonight, America is great again. #SOTU— Frank Luntz (@FrankLuntz) January 31, 2018
Luntz has become most widely known through by delivering live focus group segments on Fox News Channel during election season. And it’s not the first time that Trump has stunned the famous pollster.
Even in foreign policy and national security, this speech a perfect blend of strength and empathy. These heroic stories break our hearts, but sturdy our resolve.
This is the Trump his voters wanted him to be. #SOTU

In October 2016, a group of undecided voters threw Luntz for a loop when after a debate between then-candidates Trump and Hillary Clinton, the voters came out in favor of Trump.
“I thought that it was all over for Donald Trump,” Luntz said at the time, but conceded that after his focus group results, Trump was still in the race.
Luntz is still learning never to count Trump out.

Trump’s speech got 75% approval among an audience that was only 42% Republican.
In today’s political climate, that’s a landslide. #SOTU pic.twitter.com/qLUMqrRge8

While the president’s job approval ratings have struggled in the polls, he has been fighting a monumental battle against a doggedly biased media and deeply entrenched political officials in Washington D.C. – few of whom want an outsider like Trump threatening their power positions.
President Trump’s SOTU address was a message directly to the American people, and it was about the American people. He reminded the country that it is everyday Americans who hold the power cards and should always remain in charge.

And for that, Luntz (among many others) gave Trump high marks. His turnaround was slammed by Trump detractors, but welcomed by many of the president’s supporters:
Well well glad to see you come around

Geez Frank, it sure took you long enough. Please don’t tell me you voted for Hillary….

MSNBC’s Chris Hayes seemed to take a sarcastic swipe at Luntz for his change of heart:
This is beautiful.

But he didn’t get away with it for long:
I agree! It was a moving SOTU! So proud to be an American. I couldn’t agree with Chris and Frank more. Let’s all rally around our potus and help make America great again. Economy booming, tax cuts helping us broke folks, unemployment going away, businesses moving in! Yay!
