As he has in past debates, pollster Frank Luntz moderated a focus group of voters to monitor their thoughts during the debate — and the results Sunday night signified a game-changer for Republican Donald Trump.
The group consisted entirely of undecided Missouri voters, and they agreed that Trump’s performance had a greater impact than did that of his Democratic opponent, Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Words that members of the group used to describe Trump included “calm,” “practiced,” “much-improved,” “researched,” and that all-important one — “presidential.”
Clinton, conversely, was described as “disingenuous,” “frustrated” “not worthy of my vote,” “same-old-same-old” and unapologetic.
Luntz observed that this was the first debate where he’d seen any real movement between the candidates.
“I thought that it was all over for Donald Trump,” he told Fox News host Megyn Kelly. “I actually think that tonight was so significant, that he is back in this race.”
