In the annals of modern American politics, President Trump might have crossed the Rubicon into an entirely new territory of offensive language.
“You were here long before any of us were here,” the president said. “Although we have a representative in Congress who they say was here a long time ago. They call her Pocahontas.”
His “Pocahontas” remark at an event honoring Marine Corps’ Navajo Code Talkers was so beyond the pale, everyone there gasped in shock.
Everyone was horrified by the comment and couldn’t believe the president said it.
President Trump was instantly shunned at the event.
You could see the disdain on their faces.
The Marine vets were scared stiff that Trump might say something even more offensive.
They just couldn’t believe what the president had said.
Then again, what’s more unbelievable is a media that fixates on trivial infractions against PC etiquette, while missing the larger point.
If there ever was a case of “cultural appropriation,” and one that is arguably more egregious than most of the examples cited by the left, it’s lying about one’s ancestry in order to defraud a university.
If Elizabeth Warren didn’t lie about her ancestry, all she has to do is prove it and put Donald Trump’s “Pocahontas” nickname to rest. That doesn’t look to be happening anytime soon, so all the left has is idle outrage at the president’s mockery, which continually reminds Americans of Warren’s seemingly damning untruth.
