Pelosi and Schumer prematurely celebrate DACA fix: Trump denies deal was made, says wall will be built

Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi and Senator Chuck Schumer caused mass confusion when they claimed President Trump had made concessions on a DACA fix while giving up on the border wall.

The statement came late Wednesday following a dinner the Democratic leaders had with the president at the White House.

“We agreed to enshrine the protections of DACA into law quickly, and to work out a package of border security, excluding the wall, that’s acceptable to both sides,” Schumer and Pelosi said in a joint statement.

Meanwhile, President Trump denied a DACA deal had been reached.

“No deal was made last night on DACA,” Trump tweeted Thursday morning. “The WALL, which is already under construction in the form of new renovation of old and existing fences and walls, will continue to be built.”

Liberals on Twitter had prematurely celebrated the fake news that Trump had given up on the wall entirely. But the president and the White House pushed back, saying the wall is going up.

Multiple press outlets claimed Trump had agreed that Congress will pass the bipartisan Dream Act, which will include border-security enhancements. The Dream Act will not provide funding for the wall along the Mexican-US border. The White House will make border-wall funding part of some other legislation in the future.

Keep in mind that on Thursday morning, President Trump denied a DACA deal had been reached. The DACA fix will address the fate of the 800,000 illegal aliens who were brought to the country illegally when they were minors. Liberals were up in arms over speculation that Trump might deport them after he recently announced he will end DACA, which was an executive order signed by Barack Obama in 2012.

Under the pending Dream Act, people who were brought to the country illegally as children can eventually earn U.S. citizenship “if they graduate high school, seek higher education, serve in the military or work lawfully for three years,” the New York Post reported.

Conservatives were confused and upset over the premature celebration of liberals, who think Pelosi and Schumer had convinced Trump to forget about the wall.

“If AP is correct, Trump base is blown up, destroyed, irreparable, and disillusioned beyond repair. No promise is credible,” Republican Congressman Steve King tweeted.

Conservatives were disappointed that Trump may be softening on illegal immigration, and warned he will not get re-elected if the border wall is not built.

Others pointed out that Pelosi and Schumer are lying. Again.

New statement from Pelosi and Schumer confirms there is NO DEAL yet. Just discussion.
