Judge Andrew Napolitano stands by his reporting and his three top sources despite liberal media skepticism.
Judge Nap insists that former president Obama did spy on candidate Donald Trump with the help of British intelligence agency GCHQ (Government Communications Headquarters).
“Judge Napolitano stands by his report on Fox and Friends,” a Fox News rep said Friday after GCHQ denied the claims.
The issue was spotlighted after a German reporter asked President Trump about his “wiretapping” accusations at a press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Trump cited Napolitano’s report as partial evidence.
Liberal media hacks like Shepard Smith slammed Judge Napolitano and then jabbed at Trump by sarcastically calling him “the now-President,” as if his time were limited.
Adding to the controversy was the following statement by Fox News anchor Bret Baier: “We love the judge, but the Fox News division was never able to back up those claims.”
It’s immaterial if Bret Baier or Shepard Smith are unable to verify the claims, because Napolitano says he got the information directly from three sources in British intelligence.
Secret sources aren’t transferable: Just because they trust one journalist at Fox doesn’t mean they’ll trust another. It’s like how a CIA handler nurtures his relationship with an asset; the goodwill doesn’t extend to the entire agency.

Last week, Judge Napolitano wrote a column detailing how former president Obama could have spied on candidate Trump without probable cause or a warrant — contradicting the liberal media narrative that the president needs authorization to spy on someone. He doesn’t.
Moreover, the president of the United States can spy on someone without leaving any fingerprints:
Obama would not have needed a warrant to authorize surveillance on Trump. Obama was the president and as such enjoyed authority under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act to order surveillance on any person in America, without suspicion, probable cause or a warrant.
Sources have told me that the British foreign surveillance service, the Government Communications Headquarters, known as GCHQ, most likely provided Obama with transcripts of Trump’s calls. The NSA has given GCHQ full 24/7 access to its computers.
So by bypassing all American intelligence services, Obama would have had access to what he wanted with no Obama administration fingerprints.
Napolitano then explained his assertions on Fox and Friends (see video, starting at 49 seconds in).
While mainstream media have blasted Trump for claiming Obama had surveilled him, they rarely mention that the New York Times boasted on the front page that Obama had used “wiretapped data” to spy on Trump aides.
Investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson said Obama spied on her and on Fox News reporter James Rosen, so why wouldn’t he have spied on Trump?
“I don’t think it’s outside the realm of possibility, especially considering the New York Times and USA Today reported that there was wiretapping going on of some of his top people,” Attkisson said.
Epic fail: Nancy Pelosi’s impeachment strategy is ‘weak,’ say experts
