An illegal immigrant who was allowed to go free by the so-called sanctuary city of Denver, allegedly killed a man within weeks of his release from jail.
Ever Valles, 19, allegedly robbed and murdered a Denver man just weeks after police released him from jail, despite an ICE request to detain him.
Valles is charged with murdering Timothy Cruz, 32, on February 7 after being freed by the Denver Sheriff’s Department in late December following an October arrest for possession of a weapon, vehicle theft and eluding, the Denver post reported.

Valles was released by the sanctuary city’s county jail despite being flagged as an “immigration enforcement priority” by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
ICE officials expected to be notified of his release after they tagged a “detainer” notice on Valles.
“The detainer wasn’t honored,” ICE said in a statement last week. “He was released by the jail on Dec. 20, 2016, without notification to ICE.”
A fax notifying ICE that Valles was going to be released was reportedly sent only 30 minutes before he was set free after posting $5,000 bond.
Valles was described by ICE agents as a “citizen of Mexico” and a “known gang member.”

He was arrested on February 8 and accused of robbing and murdering Cruz at a railway station along with Nathan Valdez, a 19-year-old US citizen, according to the Post.
The Denver Sheriff’s Department defended its decision to release Valles in December and not hand him to federal authorities, regardless of the crimes he committed after that.
“The Denver Sheriff Department balances the rights of persons in our custody with requests from other jurisdictions. But we are part of the criminal justice system and do not hold people on civil matters,” a statement said.
“Denver has never and will never condone dangerous or violent individuals being on our streets, immigrants or not, however, detaining anyone without a criminal warrant is a violation of the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution,” it said.
