It’s all about political correctness and he’ll have no part of it.
Fox News Channel’s Geraldo Rivera resigned from his post at prestigious Yale University after the school announced it was changing the name of one of its colleges that was named after a 19th-century pro-slavery politician.
Peter Salvoey, Yale’s president, responded to a flurry of protests over the name of the residential college commemorating John C. Calhoun, a slave owner, white supremacist and the seventh vice president of the United States.

He announced Saturday that the college will be renamed after Grace Murray Hopper, a U.S. Navy rear admiral and computer scientist who received both her master and doctoral degree from Yale, according to The New York Times.
“I made this decision because I think it is the right thing to do on principle,” Salovey said on a conference call with reporters. “John C. Calhoun’s principles, his legacy as an ardent supporter of slavery as a positive good, are at odds with this university.”
That decision didn’t sit well with Rivera, who is an associate fellow at Calhoun College. He tweeted:
Resigned yeterday as Associate Fellow of #CalhounCollege at #Yale. Been an honor but intolerant insistence on political correctness is lame.

The students who lodged the protest said they weren’t done, and want the university to tackle the scarcity of black facility members on campus.

“This is definitely a victory, but we’re not done fighting,” Rianna Johnson-Levy, 21, a senior said. “It’s our job to keep pushing Yale in the right direction.”
Most people would say a student’s job is to study diligently and try to learn something.
