Canadian thug beats 74-year-old cyclist bloody with a club in road rage fit – and they say US is more violent?

Aren’t Canadians supposed to be nicer and more peace-loving than Americans? According to liberals like Michael Moore, you bet. But road rage statistics say otherwise and this video is a prime example.

An apparent road rage incident ended with a motorist straddling and beating a 74-year-old man with a club.
Here’s the raw footage:

The incident was caught on video by an onlooker at about 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in Peterborough, Ontario, after the driver of a Dodge pickup truck claimed his vehicle was struck by the victim — on his bicycle, according to Canadian station CTV News.

And they call Americans violent?

When the driver of the truck realized he was being captured on video, he got up off the victim, pocketed his club and claimed, “I tried to walk away.”

The woman who captured the scene then focused her attention on the victim, who was bleeding from his scalp wounds.

“Where am I bleeding?” he asked, as the blood dripped down on his white shirt.

A witness to the entire incident who didn’t wish to be identified had a different story. and said the two argued for a time before the beating started.

“I felt like the man in the truck had every opportunity to leave,” the witness said. “Instead he got out of his vehicle.”

He added that everyone on the scene attempted — without success — to detain the driver until police could arrive.

“But he slammed his door, scoffed at everyone and drove away.”

The driver, David Fox, 65, was identified through his license plate and subsequently arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a weapon.

The incident allegedly happened when both men were attempting to execute a left-hand turn.

“During the argument, the victim was assaulted and struck with a small club several times,” Peterborough police spokesperson Lauren Gilchrist told reporters. “As a result of the investigation, we were able to make an arrest in this incident.”

The 1994 film “Barcelona” included a memorable scene when a young Spanish woman argues that Americans are a violent nation, and cites shootings as proof. An American corrects her.

“That doesn’t mean Americans are more violent than other people,” he told the woman. “We’re just better shots.”

Canadians, on the other hand, are a different matter, and believe it or not, statistics bear this out. They indicate that road rage is an increasing problem in Canada.

CTV news reports one-third of Canadians are road rage victims and the aggressive behavior increases during the summer months.
