A&E canceled a forthcoming series about the Ku Klux Klan, but few seem to care.
The TV network abruptly axed a documentary series about the KKK amid reports that producers had paid for access to the show’s subjects. The 8-part series, called “Escaping the KKK: A Documentary Series Exposing Hate in America,” was scheduled to premiere January 10.
In a statement, A&E admitted that producers had made “nominal” cash payments to alleged KKK members — a violation of A&E policy. (Doesn’t that make them ACTORS?)
The network had previously denied making the payments after civil rights groups like the Anti-Defamation League and Color of Change protested.

A&E received heavy backlash from critics who felt the TV network was normalizing the racist hate group for TV ratings.
The mini-series was originally called “Generation KKK,” but the title was later changed to “Escaping the KKK: A Documentary Series Exposing Hate in America.”

Not surprisingly, many on social media say they won’t miss the show.

what you should do is fire the geniuses who came up with and approved such a horribly offensive idea to begin with.

Meanwhile, leftist Hollywood celebrities like “Grey’s Anatomy” star Ellen Pompeo blamed Donald Trump for the show, even though Trump has repeatedly disavowed the KKK, white nationalists and the alt-right movement.
The timing of this show angers me the most they are capitalizing on a disgusting wave that Trump started and media is normalizing NOT OK

Others felt A&E was stoking fear by trying to tie Trump supporters to the fringe hate group.
A&E's KKK Was nothing less than an attempt by the left wing to paint Trump supporters with a broad brush using a near extinct hate group.

Conservative commentator and author Dinesh D’Souza wondered if A&E’s “investigative” documentary series exposed the fact that the Ku Klux Klan was founded by Democrats.
.@AETV cancels a documentary on the KKK–I wonder whether it exposed the Klan's close ties to the Democratic Party https://t.co/0igEMyOPEN
