‘2017 Resolutions for White Guys’: MTV proves it’s OK to target one group in America

MTV thinks the way to stop racism is to spew racist hate.

Except this time, the target is just one group: White guys. All white guys. As if they’re a monolithic group, and one white guy is the same as the next.

Bill Clinton’s ‘angry white male’ slander drew plenty of fire, but Ann Coulter’s response won the internet

In an absurd now-deleted video entitled “2017 Resolutions for White Guys,” a motley crew of brainwashed millennials offers New Year’s resolution suggestions to white guys.

“There’s a few things we think you could do a little bit better in 2017,” says an African-American guy.

A Latina woman chimes in: “First off, try to recognize that America was never ‘great’ for anyone who wasn’t a white guy.” (That’s funny, it seems pretty great for Barack Obama and Oprah, to name a few.)

Here are some other tips, according to the MTV video:

Can we all just agree that ‘black lives matter’ isn’t the opposite of all lives matter? Black lives just matter. There’s no need to over complicate it.

Also, ‘blue lives matter’ isn’t a thing.  Cops weren’t born with blue skin. Right? I mean, yeah. They weren’t born blue!

Stop bragging about being ‘woke.’ Stop saying ‘woke.’

We all love Beyoncé. And yeah, she’s black, so of course she cares about black issues. I’m talking to you, Fox News.

Feel free to keep Kanye West, though. You guys can have him.

The reaction on Twitter was understandably biting, as users pointed out the hypocrisy of MTV’s dumb video.

Others said the racist video may have inadvertently given Trump the perfect ad for his 2020 campaign.

It’s unclear if MTV plans to make other videos with New Year’s resolutions tips for “black guys” or “Asian guys” or “Latino guys.”

Probably not. Because that’s racist, right?
