Donald Trump wants to hire the best people for his administration, even if it means letting go of past grudges.
The President-elect is considering Mitt Romney‘s niece, Ronna Romney McDaniel, to chair the Republican National Committee. The move would make McDaniel the first woman to lead the RNC in 40 years, and only the second woman to ever hold the post.
McDaniel, currently chair of the Michigan GOP, suggested she would accept the job if it were offered. “I’ll be interested in whatever Mr. Trump wants,” McDaniel told the Associated Press.
McDaniel’s uncle, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, openly campaigned against Trump during the Republican primaries despite the fact that Trump had wholeheartedly supported Romney’s 2012 presidential run.
In a withering speech, Romney slammed Trump as a con man in March 2016:Â “Donald Trump is a phony, a fraud. His promises are as worthless as a degree from Trump University.”
A week after Romney’s brutal takedown, his niece told Fox News she supported Trump and would happily vote for him.

While mainstream media as tried to paint Trump as anti-women and anti-gay, Trump’s consideration of McDaniel as RNC chair and Richard Grenell as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations proves yet again that actions speak louder than (twisted media) words.
If hired, Grenell would be the first openly gay person to fill a Cabinet-level foreign policy position. He previously was U.S. spokesman to the U.N. under President George W. Bush.
