MSNBC host Joe Scarborough launched a scathing attack on Donald Trump and his supporters Thursday, over the presumptive Republican presidential nominee’s plan to temporarily halt all Muslim immigration.
“I was deeply disturbed throughout the Republican primaries to see the high number of Republicans who supported Trump’s Muslim ban,” the “Morning Joe” host began.
He also condemned Republicans who wanted to close mosques.
“Let me look straight into the camera so this can never be wiped clean,” he said. “That’s un-American. That is every bit as un-American as people targeting Southern Baptists,” and those targeting Jews and Catholics.

Clip via MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”
Shortly after Trump suggested the temporary ban on Muslim immigration, Morning Consult polled voters on the issue, according to The Hill.
Fully 50 percent of voters supported the temporary ban — 71 percent of Republican voters were in agreement, as well as 49 percent of independents and 34 percent of likely Democratic voters.
Of those Democrats, 37 percent of Hillary Clinton supporters agreed with the ban, as well as 27 percent of Bernie Sanders supporters.
And that was confirmed by the reaction on social media to Scarborough’s remarks.

And finally, this person seemed to echo Gov. Scott Walkers observation that “It’s just sad in America that we have such poor choices right now.”

A hot mic recording taken during a February Trump town hall seemed to suggest a cozy relationship existed between the candidate and both “Morning Joe” hosts.
But if they once were on friendly terms, the honeymoon didn’t last long. Later that month Scarborough announced that Trump’s hedging remarks about the KKK were “disqualifying.”
The feud has been ratcheting up since.
