Massie launches comeback bid after losing to Trump-supported challenger

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) is already planning his next move just one week after losing his primary race.

Despite losing to Trump-backed candidate Ed Gallrein on Tuesday, Massie has already filed to run in 2028. On Monday, he made an X post that indicated he has not yet decided on which seat he will be seeking, but the filing does allow him to collect political funds as a potential candidate.

“I filed with FEC for the 2028 House race. This allows me to raise funds to continue my political operations supporting my position as a current office holder and as a potential candidate for federal office. I haven’t made a final decision about which office to seek, if I run,” he wrote.

President Donald Trump mentioned Massie in a Monday post on Truth Social, reveling in his candidate’s victory over the congressman.
