There’s a lot of wisdom in the adage… “pick your battles wisely.”
Gavin Newsom’s team did not adhere to that time-tested principle and instead jumped headfirst into a self-induced faceplant.
President Trump has been busy beautifying the nation’s capital in preparation for America’s 250th anniversary, and it has plenty of his critics piping mad.
As part of the effort, the Lincoln Memorial Reflection Pool has been drained and cleaned of dirty, goose-poop-filled water and is being prepped to be refilled.
For some reason, the X account for Governor Newsom Press Office posted a picture of the ongoing renovation project with the comment: “Bang up job Donald!”

What was the point of that? No one is really sure, but X users had plenty to say to a governor with plenty of broken promises and famously unfinished projects:
