Troll influencer went after Pete Hegseth’s wife, mocks cheap WHCD gown, she says came from temu

Sartorial criticism of the spouse of a cabinet member found a self-styled “socialist socialite” outed as little more than just “Another champagne Socialist. Fraud.”

While their policies have consistently proven a bust, means of production-seizers like Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders (I) and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) have remained rock solid in advocating a rules for the but not for me lifestyle. Now, a chronically online attention seeker has shown herself to be cut of the same cloth for attempting to demean Jennifer Rauchet’s fashion.

Though the black tie event was cut short and rescheduled to a later date after yet another attempt on President Donald Trump’s life, members of his administration had made a splash on the red carpet. This included Rauchet, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s wife, who, instead of being celebrated for allegedly making a thrifty decision for her wardrobe, felt the claws come out online.

“pete hegeseth’s wife wore a dress from temu to the white house correspondents dinner (i’m not joking) [sic],” read the X post of 18-year-old Ella Devi, dubbed a “hot girl for Zohran” by the New York Post as she shared an image of the couple beside a screenshot of a similar dress for what amounted to less than $15.

The fashion critique, while most people were trying to make sense of an assassination attempt, managed to obtain more than 11 million views with thousands of reactions. Many of those served up a reality check on how certain discount online retailers work.

Devi appeared undeterred as she responded, “‘wah wah wah temu steals designs!’ a) THIS dress design ORIGINATED on temu/shein b) hard for me to believe it’s not from temu given that the primary retailers of her bag are amazon and aliexpress [sic].”

She also attempted to deflect backlash over the alleged discount nature of the dress by asserting her argument was one of civil rights, stating, “temu uses slave labor + if you’re married to the ‘america first’ guy you should not be buying imported clothes from overseas [sic].”

Perhaps Devi remains unaware of where socialism leads, but Marxists have never been shy in describing it as the initial phase in working away from capitalism to communism. Also worth noting as she railed against the possibility of a purchase imported from China, the government under President Xi Jinping remains that of the Chinese Communist Party.

Still, while many were quick to call out the “socialist socialite” for having a half-baked view of economic policy, others noted other inconsistencies between what the aspiring influencer practices and what she preaches. This included highlighting her own assertion that “picking on women’s appearances to engage in ad hominem … to shut down their arguments” amounted to “flat-out misogyny” and frequent criticisms of white women in particular.
