‘Snowflake’ Stephen Colbert to skip Trump-attended correspondents’ dinner – he won’t be missed

Late-night leftist Stephen Colbert is making a big production out of skipping Saturday’s White House Correspondents Association Dinner to protest President Donald J. Trump’s presence.

Trump will attend the annual soiree, which is being held at the Washington Hilton, the first time that he will do so as president after announcing that he was ending his boycott of the event last month.

The president’s acceptance of the WHCA’s invitation hasn’t sat well with some members of the Democrat media who have been whining about it, and the soon-to-be former host of CBS’s “The Late Show” announced that he’s not going.

“Folks, I try to remember not to be in Washington, D.C., as often as possible. But there is certainly no time I am there less than the weekend of the White House correspondents’ dinner, which is why this Saturday, I will again not be,” he said on Thursday. “But, and it’s a big but … but for reasons that are not clear to me, many others will.”

Not that he is going to be missed by anyone outside of the dead-enders who watch the sad political rants on late-night TV, which have bottomed out since the days of Johnny Carson, Jay Leno and David Letterman, and social media users couldn’t care less.

Colbert famously punched his career ticket on the Democrat gravy train courtesy of his performance at the 2006 WHCA dinner, where he mercilessly skewered then-President George W. Bush over the Iraq war, the response to Hurricane Katrina, which devastated New Orleans, and his poor poll ratings.

It was a star turn that launched the comedically-challenged comic’s career as a Democratic Party shill, eventually going on to replace Letterman and trashing the show that the late-night legend created to the point where it became a sucking black hole of money and poor ratings, and which has since been cancelled by the network.

The last episode of “The Late Show” is set to air on May 21.

“In honor of our Nation’s 250th Birthday, and the fact that these ‘Correspondents’ now admit that I am truly one of the Greatest Presidents in the History of our Country, the G.O.A.T., according to many, it will be my Honor to accept their invitation, and work to make it the GREATEST, HOTTEST, and MOST SPECTACULAR DINNER, OF ANY KIND, EVER!” the president wrote in a March Truth Social post, announcing that he accepted the WHCA invitation.
