The ousting of former Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) over sexual assault allegations may be the proverbial tip of the iceberg, with the possibility of more exposures on the way.

In a cryptic Wednesday post to X, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) put Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) on notice that there are some “very disturbing” allegations against an unnamed senator, and calling for him to “look into” it.

Luna didn’t provide any further details on who the “trash” might be, but her spokesman, David Leatherwood, told Newsweek, “That’s a question for John Thune!”

The Florida Republican played a big role in the swift action against Swalwell by being the first lawmaker to call for his resignation and introducing a resolution for his expulsion from the House.

“If this is true, it is horrifying. He should also be added to the freaks and wierdos currently in Congress. Can you all stop molesting your staff? It’s unacceptable, illegal, gross, etc.,” Luna wrote in an April 6 post after the news broke that a number of women were preparing to go public with their allegations about Swalwell.

With the cat fully out of the bag about his sordid behavior, the one-time rising star announced his resignation under a cloud of shame and disgrace, along with another tainted lawmaker, Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX), also quitting rather than be expelled.

After the resignations, the congresswoman reacted to a post by fellow GOP House member Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), who shared a picture of a garbage truck with the U.S. Capitol in the background.

“A friendly reminder that House Oversight subpoenaed the records of the congressional sexual harassment slush fund, and we will be releasing them. Maybe we’ll see more resignations; you never know. #trashday,” she said in another Wednesday post, referring to the secretive slush fund used to pay off the alleged victims of lawmakers to keep them quiet.

The way that the Swalwell matter has blown up in the media shows that there is a serious appetite for “trash” removal when it comes to dirty elected representatives and sex perverts amid a sour public view of Congress in an election year.

How Thune responds to Luna – or if he will do anything at all – remains to be seen.
