President Donald Trump will address the nation on Wednesday night at 9 p.m. ET to provide a significant update on the ongoing conflict with Iran.
The United States military launched targeted strikes against Iran on Feb. 28, following escalating tensions and a breakdown in diplomatic negotiations. Trump announced the “massive and ongoing” Operation Epic Fury from his Mar-a-Lago residence. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced on X that Trump plans to outline the administration’s strategy and progress as U.S. military operations continue in the Middle East. The war is now entering its fifth week, and strikes on Iranian targets are ongoing.

The ongoing conflict with Iran has disrupted the world, mainly the oil markets, and sent gas prices soaring well beyond $4 per gallon. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) retaliated by closing the Strait of Hormuz, effectively halting global oil shipments. Brent crude, the international benchmark for oil prices, has jumped more than $30 since the conflict began, pushing U.S. gas prices up roughly 24 cents per gallon for every $10 increase. As of March 31, Brent trades at $106 a barrel.
The IRGC threatened to target American tech companies on Tuesday, accusing them of participating in strikes against the country. In a statement published by Tasnim News Agency, the IRGC identified 18 companies, including Tesla, Palantir, and Microsoft, as “involved in terrorist operations” against Iran.
“The main institutions involved in terrorist operations will be legitimate targets for our operations,” a translated version of the statement posted on X reads. “We advise the employees of these institutions to immediately distance themselves from their workplaces to preserve their lives.”
