Fawning Katie Couric asks Gavin Newsom how he deals with being ‘ridiculously good-looking’

Seemingly intent on showing that she lacks objectivity as a journalist, former CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric fawned all over California Governor Gavin Newsom during a sickening interview.

During her questioning of the potential 2028 Democrat hopeful on Thursday’s edition of the “Next Question” podcast, Couric referred to some who have described Newsom as “slick” and wondered whether it was in reference to his hairstyle, a slicked-back look that only adds to the perception that he’s an oily character.

“Do you have a ‘Zoolander’ problem?” Couric asked the egomaniacal Newsom, referring to the 2001 comedy starring Ben Stiller as a male model.

Newsom ate it up, laughing and pursing his lips Stiller-style.

“Are you just ridiculously good-looking, as Vogue said? No, seriously, what do you do about that?” Couric then asked.

“You don’t do anything about it. ‘Cuz if you’re going to do something about it, then you’re bullsh*tting people. You know what? I am who I am. And it’s fine. You don’t have to like me. Or maybe you like a slick person. I don’t know. Whatever. It’s okay,” the governor said.

Wet mop cleanup on aisle five, please.

Couric’s tongue bath disguised as journalism drew a strong reaction from X users, including conservative podcaster and journalist Megyn Kelly, who wondered whether Vice President JD Vance would be similarly slobbered over by the former TODAY show host.

“Katie has the audacity to lecture people on what real journalism is. If Acosta had an older sister…,” said Fox News contributor Joe Concha.

More reactions.

“This kind of question could be seen as the kind of question a flighty influencer would act, and not some world-class journalist,” NewsBusters executive editor Tim Graham told Fox News Digital.

“It comes across as highly flattering, like his looks are a great problem to have. However, his slickness can be a problem. He could come across as smarmy and pompous. Couric was probably hoping these kinds of questions would promote him, as well as it would promote her show,” he added.
