Leftist posts suspicious retraction of ugly false accusations toward Kevin O’Leary and his wife

Leftist X account “Evan Loves Worf” posted an attention-grabbing tweet about “Mr. Wonderful” on Tuesday.

The post reads like a carefully crafted “please don’t sue me” message that was prompted by receiving a cease-and-desist letter from Kevin O’Leary’s legal team, but there may be more to the message than meets the eye.

Look:

“I apologize to Kevin O’Leary and Linda O’Leary for my false statements accusing them of killing two people in a boating accident, falsely accusing them of criminal responsibility, asserting that Mr. O’Leary fled the scene or evaded accountability, and falsely claiming that he blamed the accident on Mrs. O’Leary. Each of these statements was untrue, unsupported by facts, and I therefore retract them in full,” the post reads.

X users were intrigued by the post, and there seems to be some debate over whether the post is legitimate, or a clever way of bringing attention to the allegations he’s discussing without saying anything that might get him in genuine legal trouble:
