Congresswoman Tlaib refers to the US as ‘they’ while condemning attack on Iran

Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Michigan, is under fire for an X post reacting to the strikes on Iran.

On Saturday, she hopped on the social media platform to seemingly blast the United States with a post about the Iranian strikes. Her commentary was more sympathetic to Iran than to the country she was elected to represent, which irritated a large number of people.

Look:

“Both the U.S. and genocidal Israel doesn’t care about the laws. This is who they are,” she wrote, sharing a video that purports to show the bombing of an Iranian school.

It didn’t take long for reactions to start pouring in, including from New Yorker writer James Surowiecki.

“You’re a member of Congress. Don’t call the U.S. ‘they,'” he admonished.
