A man who called in to C-SPAN to complain about the Supreme Court on Friday did such a dead-on impersonation of President Donald J. Trump that some were convinced that it was him.
The angry caller, who identified himself as “John Barron,” slammed the court’s ruling on Trump’s tariffs as “the worst decision you’d ever have made in your life, practically,” and mocked the top two congressional Democrats. Host Greta Brawner said that the caller was a Republican from Virginia.
“John in Virginia, Republican, let’s hear from you,” she said as “John Barron” went live.

“This is John Barron,” the Trump impersonator began. “Look, this is the worst decision you ever made in your life, practically, and Jack’s gonna agree with me, right? But this is a terrible decision.”
“And you have Hakeem Jeffries, who — he’s a dope, and you’ve have Chuck Schumer, who can’t cook a cheeseburger,” the caller continued. “Of course, these people are happy. Of course, these people are happy, but true Americans will not be happy. And you have the woman earlier — I assume she’s a woman, she’s a Democrat, but she’s … devastated by this.”
“All right, John,” Brawner responded, ending the call.
Not only did the caller sound just like the president, but “John Barron” is also a pseudonym used by Trump in the past.
In 2016, the Washington Post reported on the alias in a piece titled “The amazing story of Donald Trump’s old spokesman, John Barron – who was actually Donald Trump himself.”
Audio of the call went viral on X over the weekend, with users weighing in with their thoughts.

I wouldn’t assume it’s an impersonator. He did this once before where he called into some show and pretended to be someone else. That went around back during the 2016 cycle.

The call came from a central Virginia phone number and came while the president was in a widely covered, in-person White House meeting with the governors,” the network said in a statement posted to X on Sunday.
“Tune into C-SPAN for the actual president at the State of the Union Address on Tuesday night,” the statement added, plugging Trump’s annual speech to a joint session of Congress.
