‘Now I see what the big deal is’: GOP senator changes opinion on Epstein files after doc dump

One Republican senator has had a change of opinion on the Epstein files thanks to the latest document dump.

Sen. Cynthia Lummis, R-Wyoming, revealed that she supports the full release of the files relating to Jeffrey Epstein after discovering there may have been a victim as young as nine years old. This is a departure from her previous stance on the matter, where she had “intentionally deferred to others.”

“I’ve not been one of the members who has glommed on to this as an issue. I’ve sort of intentionally deferred to others to find out about it. But nine-year-old victims—” she told Congressional reporter Pablo Manríquez on Monday.

“All over the world—Moscow is saying it was sort of like a real global network that they’re now getting to see on these four terminals they have,” Manríquez pointed out, referring to the Department of Justice computers where members of Congress can view the files.

“Wow. Well, initially, my reaction to all this was, ‘I don’t care. I don’t know what the big deal is.’ But now I see what the big deal is, and it was worth investigating. And the members of Congress that have been pushing this were not wrong. So that’s really my only reaction,” Lummis said.
