Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) believes Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime performance wasn’t just gross, it was “illegal.”

Fine hopped on X to share his opinion on the controversial show that has the Internet divided. While one side saw a celebration of love and culture, the other saw the vulgar lyrics and a desecration of American tradition. Fine was so disappointed by the performance that he’s asking Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Brendan Carr to take “dramatic action” against everyone involved in the airing of the halftime show.

“You can’t say the f-word on live TV. Bad Bunny’s disgusting halftime show was illegal. Had he said these lyrics — and all of the other disgusting and pornographic filth in English on live TV, the broadcast would have been pulled down and the fines would have been enormous. Puerto Ricans are Americans and we all live by the same rules. We are sending [Carr] a letter calling for dramatic action, including fines and broadcast license reviews, against the [NFL], [NBC], and ‘Bad Bunny.’ Lock them up,” he wrote in a statement.

He even added some translated lyrics to illustrate his point, but critics say the words, while part of the songs, were not included in the performance.

The aired performance stayed within bounds—no violations occurred. Halftime shows routinely self-censor to avoid fines, and this one followed suit.

In a strange move, the artist at the center of this controversy appears to have wiped his Instagram account following the performance. According to Fox News, Bad Bunny’s account boasts over 50 million followers but was wiped clean, including unfollowing everyone.

While it’s unclear why such a dramatic move would be made after a high-profile performance, some believe it is part of a rebranding effort that might be revealed in the future.
