‘He’s a dangerous f*ck’: Joe Rogan unloads on Tim Walz

Podcast host Joe Rogan rebuked Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz during a Wednesday episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience” featuring writer Andrew Doyle.

Doyle mentioned on the podcast that Walz, during his sole 2024 vice presidential debate against JD Vance, indicated that he believed the First Amendment did not protect misinformation or hate speech. Rogan responded by describing Walz as “dangerous” and emphasizing his withdrawal from his 2026 reelection campaign amid the Somali fraud scandal in his state.

“He’s a dangerous f*ck, that guy,” the podcast host said.

Doyle added that it was “scary” for a vice presidential nominee to espouse such an anti-free speech sentiment.

“Also, just the way he behaves is so odd,” Rogan said. “The way he waves and runs on stage and — it’s all just so fake and performative. I don’t know any men like that that aren’t dangerous.”

When Doyle asked why Walz was tapped as the 2024 vice presidential nominee, Rogan theorized that it was likely due to enabling fraud in his state.

“It probably had something to do with what he was allowing to happen in Minnesota. They were probably making a ton of money … There’s a reason why he had to resign,” the podcast host said. “I mean, I’m clearly speculating. I have no idea, and I’m a moron when it comes to politics. But what I would assume is that, the — for sure, he was informed of this fraud long in advance.”

He recounted how YouTuber Nick Shirley posted a viral documentary on Dec. 26 that highlighted the alleged fraud in Minnesota.

“[T]his guy knew about it in advance. How do we know? Well, one way we know is because he’s resigning … He’s not running for governor again,” Rogan said. “He was in the process of running for governor. He’s decided to step out of public office entirely now. So maybe they told him, ‘If you do not step out, you were going to be prosecuted. We know what you did.’ Or maybe he’s going to f*cking turn state’s evidence. Who fucking knows?”

Vance confronted Walz during the debate for saying on MS NOW in 2022 that there was “no guarantee to free speech on misinformation or hate speech.” He paraphrased Walz’s 2022 remark by saying he had asserted that “there’s no First Amendment right to misinformation.”

Rather than dispute Vance’s characterization of his comment, Walz replied, “Or threatening, or hate speech.”

Several state employees accused Walz on X on Nov. 29 of “systematically retaliat[ing] against whistleblowers” who flagged fraud schemes as federal prosecutors pursued cases.

“Tim Walz is 100% responsible for massive fraud in Minnesota,” they wrote. “We let Tim Walz know of fraud early on, hoping for a partnership in stopping fraud, but no, we got the opposite response.”

Walz’s office defended the governor’s record on fraud in a Dec. 28 statement to Fox News after Shirley’s video.

“The governor has worked for years to crack down on fraud and ask the state legislature for more authority to take aggressive action,” Walz’s office told the outlet. “He has strengthened oversight — including launching investigations into these specific facilities, one of which was already closed.”

Walz ended his reelection bid just days later on Jan. 5.
