Epstein files include ‘hundreds of references’ to Norway’s crown princess, whose son faces sex crime charges

Turmoil has struck the Norwegian royal family, courtesy of the Department of Justice’s Jeffrey Epstein file dump.

Marius Borg Høiby, the son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit, is gearing up to head to trial on a multitude of charges, including rape. Prosecutors allege he committed “multiple sexual assaults over a period of several years” and engaged in “violent and threatening behavior toward former partners,” according to a Fox News report. The behavior reportedly took place between 2018 and late 2024 and even includes allegations of a violated restraining order. A conviction could result in incarceration for up to 10 years, and the trial is expected to take a little over a month to conclude.

“Høiby is not part of the royal household and does not hold any official role,” the outlet clarified, adding that he denies all of the sexual abuse claims against him, and most of the allegations of violence.

As if this trouble isn’t enough, the recent release of the Epstein files includes “hundreds of references to” Mette-Marit.

“The records, which include email correspondence, indicate that Mette-Marit stayed for several days in early 2013 at a Palm Beach, Florida, property owned by Epstein — a visit the royal household has said was arranged through a mutual friend, according to Norwegian broadcaster NRK,” Fox reported.

The crown princess has previously apologized for her association with Epstein, and made comments to the Associated Press indicating that she had not properly looked into the billionaire financier, who had already been convicted of child sex crimes at the time of the correspondence.
