Visible bruising was seen on the hand of President Donald J. Trump during a Board of Peace signing ceremony in Davos, Switzerland, prompting the White House to offer an explanation.
Press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the president bruised his hand after hitting it on the corner of the signing table during the event, according to Fox News.
“A White House official added the president is more prone to bruising because he takes a daily aspirin, a regimen previously disclosed by his physicians. The White House also noted to Fox News that photos taken Wednesday showed no bruising,” the network reported.
It looks like Trump did NOT have the bruise on his left hand when he arrived in Switzerland on January 21.

Trump was asked about the bruising aboard Air Force One.
“I’m very good. I clipped it on the table. So I put a little, what do they call it, cream on it. But I clipped it,” he replied. “I would say take aspirin if you like your heart, but don’t take aspirin if you don’t want to have a little bruising.”
“I take the big aspirin. And when you take the big aspirin, they tell you that you bruise,” he continued. “The doctors said, ‘You don’t have to take that, sir. You’’re very healthy.’ I said, ‘I’m not taking any chances.’ That’s one of the side effects of taking aspirin.”
Reporter: “We saw the bruising on your hand. Are you okay?”

White House physician Sean Barbabella said in a Dec. 1 memo that the 79-year-old president underwent advanced imaging at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center as a preventative measure.
“The purpose of this imaging is preventive: to identify issues early, confirm overall health, and ensure he maintains long-term vitality and function,” Barbabella said at the time, according to Fox News.
“President Trump’s cardiovascular imaging is perfectly normal,” he noted. “There is no evidence of arterial narrowing impairing blood flow or abnormalities in the heart or major vessels. The heart chambers are normal in size, the vessel walls appear smooth and healthy, and there are no signs of inflammation, or clotting. Overall, his cardiovascular system shows excellent health.”
Considering how often Trump is photographed, it’s clear that his hand was not bruised at the beginning of the signing ceremony.
