Ilhan Omar calls Elon Musk ‘one of the dumbest people on Earth’

Daily Caller News Foundation

Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar called tech mogul Elon Musk “one of the dumbest people on Earth” on Monday after he accused her of politically benefiting from illegal immigration.

Musk stated on X that Democrats are flooding the U.S. with illegal immigrants and handing them welfare to win elections, pointing to Omar as an “obvious example” of this phenomenon. In response, Omar accused Musk, without evidence, of being dumb and told him he should have no place in U.S. society.

“This has been happening for years. Ilhan Omar is the most obvious example. A large number of relatively recently arrived Somalis will elect only a Somali to Congress in that Minnesota district. This is much more subtle, but just as bad, in many other parts of America,” Musk said.

“You are one of the dumbest people on earth. My district is literally a majority white district. Your conspiracy theories are laughable and should have no place in a society that cares about facts,” Omar responded.

While 60% of Omar’s district is white, foreign-born residents make up 14% of the population, with a large portion of them being Somalis, according to Data USA.

Despite Omar’s accusations, Musk owns several tech companies, such as Tesla, and has made himself one of the most influential tech innovators in the modern era. He is the founder, CEO, and chief engineer of SpaceX, which has made massive inroads in space exploration and technologies. He also purchased Twitter in April 2022, which he later renamed X Corps, for $44 billion.

SpaceX has launched 246 rockets, 207 of which successfully landed, and is the only private company to return a spacecraft from low-Earth orbit and take humans to and from the International Space Station. The company is worth $100 billion, making it one of the most valuable companies in the world.

Musk is also the co-founder and owner of Neuralink Corporation, a neurotechnology company developing implantable brain-machine interfaces, which are intended to create brain implants that can communicate with phones and computers and help people with paralysis gain independence.
