Newly released footage obtained by Alpha News on Friday shows an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer’s perspective of the incident that killed Renee Good.
The officer, filming the incident with his cell, got out of his vehicle to record the license plate number of Good’s car, which was blocking the road’s lane, according to the video. Good’s wife, Rebecca, could be seen filming agent with her phone and repeatedly confronting him in the lead up to the shooting.
“That’s fine, dude. I’m not mad at you,” Good told the agent.

“That’s okay. We don’t change our plates every morning, just so you know,” Rebecca said as the agent filmed the plate. “It will be the same plate when you come back to us later. That’s fine … You want to come at us? You want to come at us? I say go get yourself a big lunch, big boy. Go ahead.”
At that moment, an agent approached Good’s vehicle and repeatedly instructed her to get out of the car. Good backed up her car, appeared to look straight at the officer filming, and accelerated forward. Several shots were then fired and the car crashed into a parked car on the side of the road.
Good’s wife appeared to try and enter the car and shouted something to Good right before she drove forward. A dog could also be seen sitting in the backseat near an open window.
President Donald Trump’s administration has maintained that the officer who shot Good acted in self-defense. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem told reporters on Wednesday that the officer was the victim of a vehicle attack in June, when an anti-ICE agent rammed into and dragged him along the road.
Prominent Democrats have argued that Good did not pose any threat to the officers and simply tried to escape. Democratic Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey called on ICE to “get the fuck out” of the city.
“Renee was a resident of our city who was out caring for her neighbors this morning and her life was taken today at the hands of the federal government,” the Democratic-dominated Minneapolis City Council said in a statement the day of the shooting. “Anyone who kills someone in our city deserves to be arrested, investigated, and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
