Minneapolis McDonald’s removes sign banning ICE agents after backlash

First Hilton Hotel and now McDonald’s?

Radical left-wing politics keep bleeding into the corporate world, much to the dismay of executives still smarting from the 2020 Black Lives Matter shakedown.

A McDonald’s franchise in Minneapolis posted a sign barring law enforcement and immigration agents, according to Fox News. The network cited a Daily Wire video posted on X that showed a sign on the front door threatening legal action if agents entered without a “valid judicial warrant.”

“At the end of the day, this is private property. You can’t just break the law because you’re a federal agent,” an armed security guard told the Daily Wire reporter. “It’s like coming into your house or coming into any other restaurant. There’s rules.”

“This is a private business. You are not permitted to enter non-public areas of this business (including offices, break rooms, storage areas, and staff-only areas) without a valid JUDICIAL WARRANT signed by a judge or magistrate,” the note stated.

“IF YOU ATTEMPT TO ENTER THIS BUSINESS WITHOUT A VALID JUDICIAL WARRANT, YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE. IF YOU PRESENT A JUDICIAL WARRANT, PLEASE NOTIFY MANAGEMENT AND LEGAL COUNSEL IMMEDIATELY BEFORE PROCEEDING. IF YOU ENTER, YOU ARE TRESPASSING, AND WE WILL SEEK LEGAL RECOURSE,” the message concluded.

McDonald’s told Fox News that the note has been removed and that the franchise owner/operator will speak with the staff about appropriate signage.

“We’re in touch with the owner/operator of this franchised restaurant and have confirmed that this flyer was posted without approval and has since been taken down,” McDonald’s USA said.

Hilton Hotels rushed to take down signage this week outside a Minneapolis-area Hampton Inn property that reportedly refused service to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agents, after severing its relationship with the independently operated inn.

“Hilton hotels serve as welcoming places for all. This hotel is independently owned and operated, and the actions referenced are not reflective of Hilton values,” a spokesperson said in a statement. “We are investigating this matter with this individual hotel, and can confirm that Hilton works with governments, law enforcement and community leaders around the world to ensure our properties are open and inviting to everyone.”

Here’s a sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
