There’s the beef: Florida man arrested for butt-naked armed robbery of meat market

As 2025 comes to a close, it’s time to check in with Florida Man, who has been suspiciously quiet lately. Too quiet, perhaps…

In Lake City, Florida, authorities arrested a man later identified as 24-year-old Kobe Watkins, who allegedly entered a BJ’s Meat Market stark naked except for a mask. He also reportedly had a piece of cloth wrapped around his hand, and employees believed that he was attempting to conceal a weapon.

“Watkins broke into a cash box and took more than $1,000 from the store before he ran away,” reported WCJB.

Columbia County Sheriff’s Office helped Lake City Police Department officers find the suspect, who was cuffed shortly after the alleged crime took place. Interestingly, police also found items that they suspect were involved in additional crimes from around the area, according to local reports.

The suspect was taken to the local hospital for a medical evaluation before being booked on several charges, including armed robbery, exposure of sexual organs, grand theft, and criminal mischief.

“Incidents like this are unsettling, but our officers responded quickly, secured the scene, and worked with our partners to identify and arrest the suspect. We appreciate the swift assistance from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office and the cooperation from the business employees that helped bring this to a safe resolution,” Chief of Police Gerald Butler said in a statement following the arrest.

It may not have exactly been the crime of the century, but X users had plenty to say:
