Further support for the left’s alleged weaponization of the federal government put a spotlight on former Attorney General Merrick Garland’s questionable approval for the Mar-a-Lago raid.
Nearly two years before a failed assassination attempt on then-former President Donald Trump, and a year before escalating lawfare made him the first former commander-in-chief to have a mugshot, Garland’s Justice Department under then-President Joe Biden took the unprecedented step to raid Trump’s Palm Beach, Florida, residence over alleged mishandling of classified documents.
Now, recently declassified emails made public by Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley (R) detail how FBI officials expressed concerns regarding the Department of Justice’s lack of probable cause to execute a search warrant on Mar-a-Lago, as supporting evidence failed to meet the standard.
“Merrick Garland lied to the country that the Mar-a-Lago raid was evidence of his DOJ ‘applying the law evenly without fear or favor’ — when of course the exact opposite was true,” the X account Western Lensman said while sharing Garland’s remarks on the “personally approved” raid beside the headline for a report from Fox News. “The same people that cheered this on now cry that Trump is weaponizing the DOJ.”

“Very little has been developed related to who might be culpable for mishandling the documents,” an assistant special agent in charge said to fellow FBI official Anthony Riedlinger, according to Fox News Digital’s report. “From the interviews, WFO (Washington Field Office) has gathered information suggesting that there may be additional boxes (presumably of the same type as were sent back to NARA in January) at Mar-a-Lago.”
“WFO has been drafting a search warrant affidavit related to these potential boxes, but has some concerns that the information is single-source, has not been corroborated, and may be dated. DOJ CES opines, however, that the SWs meet the probable cause standard,” the official went on before encouraging a meeting with Trump’s attorney on the matter that would have included disclosure of search warrant preparations.
While the official further argued in favor of securing the documents until the matter of their classified status was sorted out, an email weeks later featured an FBI agent stating the bureau hadn’t “generated any new facts,” but drafts for a warrant continued to be generated. “Absent a witness coming forward with recent information about classified on-site, at what point is it fair to table this? It is time-consuming for the team, and not productive if there are no new facts supporting [probable cause]?”
Another email from the FBI’s Washington Field Office articulated the difference in opinion on probable cause, indicating, “DOJ has opined that they do have probable cause, requesting a wide scope including residence, office, storage space.”
The details of the declassified emails alleging Garland, once a nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court, had authorized a raid on the political opponent of the sitting president came only days after Grassley, chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, also shared, “Records provided [to me] show DOJ/FBI HQ blocked prosecutors [and] agents [from] properly investigating the Clinton Foundation.”
“Now compare that [with] Arctic Frost: Jack Smith issued HUNDREDS of subpoenas on Republican targets [including] Members of [Congress without] clear predicate,” added the senator. “[DOUBLE] STANDARD OF JUSTICE.”

Among those reacting to the revelation in the lawfare against the then-former president, for which the case was ultimately dropped after he won the 2024 presidential election, Trump himself took to Truth Social to decry the seeming violation of his Fourth Amendment rights and wrote, “Unreasonable Search and Seizure!!! That was the FBI’s CRIMINAL RAID on Mar-a-Lago. This can never be allowed to happen again!!!”
See now the anatomy of tyranny .. insurrection, not an accusation, an actual fact.
The bidenites, more than just the incompetence and neglect, Treasonous.

We must never forget how close Merrick Garland came to sitting on SCOTUS.
Obama sold Garland as a moderate, when in reality Garland is another crazed liberal activist who was posing as a judge.
(And Obama knew exactly what he was doing by nominating him).

Of course they did, “amid pressure”.
Right.Seems like our entire intelligence community was more than willing to do things that served the interests of Biden.

So lets subpoena him and ask him why? Get it on the record.

Once the DEMONcrats get back in power, they will triple down on their lawlessness since they get away with it every time. They own the judges.
