Trump has an idea of where his son will be when he ‘kicks the bucket’

President Donald Trump joked about his eldest son mourning his death one day and where he would rather be when his father kicks the bucket.

During lengthy remarks in a Christmas address from the White House, the president at one point brought up snakes and former White House doctor James J. Jones’ memoir in which he described his experience of being bitten by a snake in the Amazon. As he spoke about jungles and the near-death experience, Trump brought Donald Trump Jr. into the commentary.

“[Peru] is known for being a rather rough place in terms of physical creatures crawling around,” the president said, adding that “28,000 people die a year from a snake bite, a certain snake. It’s a viper. It’s said to be the most poisonous snake in the world.”

As he recounted the doctor’s tale of being bitten by a viper, Trump told the crowd it was a “terrible Christmas story, but it’s a helluva story,” going on to tell how, at the time, Jones was thought to have died three times from the venomous bite.

Trump went on to state his “theory” that “wildlife always wins.”

“I’m saying this for my son, by the way, because I have a son who would rather be in the jungle than any place on earth,” the president said, pointing to Don Jr. in the crowd.

“When I kick the bucket someday, I figure—I think he’ll be here for about two days. He’ll go and pay his respects, and we’ll say, ‘Where’s Don?’ He’d rather be in some jungle, some—and he’s a really good hunter,” he added.

“But remember this. Wildlife always wins, unfortunately, in this case,” he went on, expressing his appreciation for the memoir and its cover.

Recently musing about his life and whether he will be getting into heaven, the president said on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” in August. “I want to try and get to heaven, if possible. I’m hearing I’m not doing well. I am really at the bottom of the totem pole.”
