Landman episode throws punch at The View …‘bunch of pissed off millionaires b*tching’ about millionaires’

The latest episode of a hit Paramount+ show fired a solid jab at the women hosting ABC’s daytime talk fest, “The View.”

In a scene during Sunday’s episode of “Landman,” father and son characters, played by Billy Bob Thornton and Sam Elliott, discussed the show and described the hosts as “a bunch of pissed off millionaires b*tching’ about” other millionaires.

Thornton’s character Tommy was telling his father, oil executive T.I., played by Elliott, to “do whatever you want to do”in a phone conversation when Elliott’s character said he didn’t “know what to do.”

“Read a book or watch TV — watch one of them daytime talk shows, you know, like ‘The View’ or something,” Tommy suggested of the ABC show featuring hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, and Alyssa Farrah Griffin,

“What’s The View?” T.I. asked.

“[It’s] a bunch of pissed-off millionaires b*tching about how much they hate millionaires — and Trump and men and you and me and everybody else they got a bee up their ass about,” Tommy replied. “It’s pretty funny.”

When T.I. sounded skeptical, Tommy explained further, “Well, it ain’t joke funny, it’s like fart in church funny, you know what I mean?”

“That don’t sound funny, either,” T.T. replied.

“Well, it depends on your proximity to the fart,” Thornton’s character quipped.

Thornton appeared as a guest on “The View” in 2024, describing how “Landman”co-creator Taylor Sheridan, who has the sole writing credit on episode scripts, created the series and character with the actor in mind.

Thornton recently called out fellow Hollywood stars for bringing politics and social causes into the award show scene.

“There is a time and place for that,” he said on Joe Rogan’s podcast last month.

“Don’t go up there and talk about saving the badgers in Wisconsin or something, you know what I’m saying?” the 70-year-old actor said. “And people would argue and say, ‘Well, no, because I have a voice and because everybody knows me. This is a great platform for me to put this out there.”

“Well, how about this? If you have a billion dollars, and you want to save the badgers, f*cking save them. I mean, you got plenty of money to save the badgers, trust me,” he added.
