The FBI, under the direction of Kash Patel, made an arrest early Thursday in connection with the placement of pipe bombs at the offices of the Democratic National Committee and the Republican National Committee in Washington, D.C., on January 5, 2021.
Attorney General Pamela Bondi announced during a press conference that after a nearly five-year investigation, Brian Cole Jr. of Woodbridge, Virginia, has been charged with allegedly placing the explosive devices at both locations.
U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro spoke about the 30-year-old suspect’s “low-key lifestyle” during an appearance on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle.”
“This is a guy who kind of has a very low-key life. He lives with his mother,” Pirro said, before adding, “He was always wearing his headphones. He would take his dog out. He’d go to the 7-Eleven. He was very low-key, low-profile.”
“He’s that quiet individual that you would never imagine could put a pipe bomb, put it together,” she said. “His closest friends are his family. He lives with his mom and his sisters. He would go to work for a few hours a day. His father had a bail bondsman company.”

Pirro said Cole began building pipe bombs in the fall of 2019, purchasing electrical wire, battery connectors, and explosive caps from local shops.
“They found a lot of other products and pieces for pipe bombs,” she said of the search of Cole’s home. “He was into this, very much into this.”
Giving credit to President Donald Trump for the arrest, Pirro accused the Biden administration of not making the case a higher priority.
“This case was solved because of President Trump and this administration making it a priority,” she said. “The well-being of any society depends upon whether or not people feel safe. And people feel safe when we do — and we will — make the criminal accountable, and that’s what we did.”
Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino questioned the actions of former FBI Director Christopher Wray during a later appearance on Fox News’ “Hannity.”
“I don’t know what the hell the prior leadership was doing outside of, you know, targeting political opponents, weaponizing the FBI, destroying its reputation…”
“It’s almost like they were intentionally trying to decimate faith in institutions,” he added.
