Gavin Newsom urges Democrats to be ‘more culturally normal’ as he eyes White House

California Governor Gavin Newsom wants Democrats to try and act “normal” as he seeks the presidency.

Newsom had choice words for FOX News and delivered advice for Dems during the New York Times’ Dealbook Conference in New York City on Wednesday. The governor criticized his fellow Democrats, saying they’re out of touch with what Americans care about and should start acting as if they care about the border.

“I think there’s a broader narrative that [Democrats] ought to address, that is, we have to be more culturally normal,” Newsom said. “We have to be a little less judgmental.”

Newsom also explained that his social media accounts were “approved” by him to mimic President Donald Trump’s tone to “wake everybody up” to the “normalization of deviancy.”

He also compared Fox News to Russia’s propaganda media arm.

“You got Pravda, the primetime lineup at Fox, just going on and on [in defense of Trump],” Newsom said. “[Trump] called someone the ‘R word’ or piggy, and somehow it’s just ‘Trump being Trump.’ Nothing normal about this. He’s a man-child. It’s unbecoming to the president of the United States.”

Newsom continued to slam Fox for being critical of his Trump-imitation posts but never uttered a “damn word” about Trump’s social media rantings.

X users had fun with Newsom’s desire for Dems to feign “normalcy.”
