Did another top Senate Dem just dog whistle for a military coup?

U.S. Sen. Mark Warner sparked calls for his arrest after remarks that sounded to many like he was calling for a military coup.

The Virginia Democrat was speaking on MS NOW, formerly MSNBC, when he made the comments about the “uniformed military” coming to the nation’s rescue. Warner’s remarks come as Democrats continue to bang the drum about President Trump and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, warning about the administration’s power.

“What are some of the questions that you will want answers to from Admiral Bradley tomorrow?” Mika Brzezinski, co-host of “Morning Joe,” asked Warner, who announced Tuesday that he’s running for reelection in 2026.

Adm. Frank Bradley is set to testify on Capitol Hill on Thursday about orders in the September strikes on a reported narcotics-running boat in the Caribbean Sea. The admiral, who served as a Navy SEAL, is the head of US Special Operations Command and gave the final order on the boat strikes.

“I’m going to want to get answers on what did Pete Hegseth order? Why haven’t we seen the whole unedited video if there’s nothing inappropriate here?” replied Warner, who currently serves as the vice chairman of the Select Committee on Intelligence and is a member of the Senate Finance, Banking, Budget, and Rules Committees.

“You could have cleared this up without the admiral coming in. He’s got a great reputation. I respect him. I want to get the truth. And I’m not sure we’ve had the truth from Hegseth yet,” he said.

“Remember, this is an administration that has treated the uniformed military with unprecedented disrespect when they were all brought to get a pep rally in front of Hegseth and Trump. This is an administration that’s fired, you know, uniform generals from the head of the NSA, the head of the Defense Intelligence Agency,” he continued before seeming to say the quiet part out loud.

“I think in many ways, the uniformed military may help save us from this president and his lame people like Hegseth, because I think their commitment is to the Constitution and obviously not to Trump,” Warner said. “I expect Bradley to adhere to that.”

Coming on the heels of the ‘Seditious Six’ video of Democrats urging the military to disobey “illegal orders” from their commander-in-chief, Warner’s latest remarks garnered plenty of backlash on social media.
