John F. Kennedy grandson can’t stop making creepy videos

The only grandson of President John F. Kennedy announced his bid for Congress, sparking a wave of reactions on social media as past cringey videos caught renewed attention.

Jack Schlossberg is looking to replace retiring Democratic Rep. Jerry Nadler, as he announced this week that he is running for New York’s 12th Congressional District.

“This is the best part of the greatest city on Earth,” the 32-year-old said in a video announcement. “We have the best hospitals and schools, restaurants and museums. This is the financial and media capital of the world. This district should have a representative who can harness the creativity, energy, and drive of this district and translate that into political power in Washington.”

“I’m not running because I have all the answers to our problems,” Schlossberg, the son of Caroline Kennedy, said in the video. “I’m running because the people of New York 12 do. I want to listen to your struggles, hear your stories, amplify your voice, go to Washington, and execute on your behalf.”

The young heir of the Kennedy clan, long known as America’s Royal Family, has made headlines for his outspoken criticism of his cousin, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., as well as his controversial and eyebrow-raising posts. With a resume that seems to only show his time at fashion magazine Vogue as a political correspondent in 2024, Schlossberg’s announcement prompted immediate reactions on X.

Newsweek notes that Schlossberg “is seeking to extend the Kennedy family’s storied tradition of public service, marking the latest chapter in an American political dynasty that has produced candidates and elected officials for more than a century.”

“The Kennedy family is one of the most famous political dynasties in U.S. history, responsible for landmark moments in American politics,” Newsweek noted. “Schlossberg’s entrance into the race fuels ongoing debate about dynastic power in American democracy and the role of legacy candidates as the electorate faces social, economic, and constitutional challenges.”

“Yep. In New York he’ll win,” author and Fox News contributor Joe Concha noted on X. “Grandpa — the tax cutting, pro-military, pro-merit based president who has the highest approval rating the history of polling… Would be so proud.”
