Alec Penstone, a 100-year-old veteran of World War Two, appeared on Good Morning Britain this week to offer a damning indictment on the state of his country today.
With liberals weaponizing immigration to change the face of Western countries — literally — and the British government fully embracing censorship, arresting people by the dozens over social media posts, it’s fair to say that the Greatest Generation struggles to recognize the world they collectively saved.
Asked what Remembrance Day means to him, Penstone, who served in the Royal Navy, responded with a heart-wrenching message.
“My message is,” he said, “I can see in my mind’s eye those rows and rows of white stones and all the hundreds of my friends who gave their lives, for what? The country of today?”
‘What we fought for was our freedom, even now [the country] is worse than it was when I fought for it,’ says 100-year-old World War II Veteran Alec Penstone. pic.twitter.com/M9HSsS5sIW

“No, I’m sorry – but the sacrifice wasn’t worth the result of what it is now,” Penstone added. “What we fought for was our freedom, now it’s a darn sight worse than when I fought for it.”
The United Kingdom passed the Online Safety Act in 2023, which regulates so-called hate speech, harmful content and misinformation — with the government deciding what fits these categories.
Social media users could relate to how the vet feels, with many calling it “heart-wrenching” — here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:

The foreigner interviewing him can hardly contain his excitement at the chance of deploying a “gotya” question.
“What do you reaaaalllyyyy mean by that?”
He means our nation has been sold out to invading third world hordes and foreign investors, and we fight all our conflicts…

“What do you mean by that, though?” What a punk. You know what he means. So do we. A land sinking under human quantitative easing. He fought for his nation and his people, now dissolving away in an ocean of alien tribes. His quavering voice offers up the iron solidity of truth.

We have thrown their sacrifice and courage in the bin. Shame on us

Poor old chap. His words should shame us all for allowing this to happen.
It’s time to fix this problem.
