President Donald Trump expressed his “hope” that his Department of Justice will be investigating election fraud with “gusto,” bringing up the 2020 election as he touched on the current NBA gambling scandal.
In a Truth Social post on Sunday, the president brought up the federal investigation of the illegal gambling connected to professional basketball as he argued that the “Rigged and Stolen” 2020 election was a much bigger scandal.
“What’s worse, the NBA Players cheating at cards, and probably much else, or the Democrats cheating on Elections,” he asked at the start of his post.
“The 2020 Presidential Election, being Rigged and Stolen, is a far bigger SCANDAL. Look what happened to our Country when a Crooked Moron became our ‘President!’” he added, referring to former President Joe Biden.
“We now know everything,” he continued. “I hope the DOJ pursue this with as much ‘gusto’ as befitting the biggest SCANDAL in American history! If not, it will happen again, including the upcoming Midterms.”
Trump reiterated his support for voter ID while decrying early voting and mail-in ballots.
“No mail-in or ‘Early’ Voting, Yes to Voter ID!” he wrote.
“Watch how totally dishonest the California Prop Vote is! Millions of Ballots being ‘shipped.’ GET SMART REPUBLICANS, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!!!” he concluded with a reference to California’s special election on approving a redistricting plan.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom fired back at Trump’s thoughts in a post on X.

The White House has reportedly hired lawyer Kurt Olsen as a “special government employee,” according to the Wall Street Journal, which reported that Olsen is already asking “intelligence agencies for information about the 2020 election.”
Trump’s post on Sunday echoed previous comments he has made in calling for an investigation into the 2020 election.
“Biden was grossly incompetent, and the 2020 election was a total FRAUD! The evidence is MASSIVE and OVERWHELMING. A Special Prosecutor must be appointed. This cannot be allowed to happen again in the United States of America! Let the work begin!” he said in a post in June.
