We’re talking about Chicago schools, folks, and no one should be surprised.
The principal of Nathan Hale Elementary School is trying to make a victim out of teacher Lucy Martinez, who’s now “15 minutes famous” for the “bang, bang” viral video mocking the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
In a letter sent to parents, principal Dawn Iles-Gomez complained of threats against Martinez and appeared to make no mention of the teacher’s evil gesture.
“Dear Hale Parents and Staff, safety continues to be my top priority, which is why I am writing to notify you of a situation involving our school,” the letter states. “We were recently made aware of social media posts with language that resembles a potential threat to a staff member. We take all potential threats extremely seriously to ensure the safety of our school community.”
“The Chicago Police Department and the CPS Office of Safety and Security have been notified, and CPD is currently investigating this situation further,” Iles-Gomez continued.
Andrew Kolvet, Executive Producer of “The Charlie Kirk Show,” said he received a copy of the principal’s letter from a “livid” parent.
A parent from Nathan Hale Elementary School in Chicago, where Lucy Martinez remains employed, just forwarded this email to us from the school Principal Iles-Gomez. This parent is LIVID that the school is making Martinez out to be a victim without even acknowledging her vile… pic.twitter.com/S0q6YXt14R

The letter was met with understandable outrage, and according to reaction on X, Martinez’s despicable actions won’t be swept under the rug any time soon:
On Monday morning, following contact from a concerned parent, I met with Principal Gomez. She declined to accept the formal complaint against Lucy Martinez. Subsequently, I filed the complaint at the Chicago Public Schools Headquarters and then informed the Chicago Public Schools… pic.twitter.com/w9cVbk4JGs

Don’t bother contacting the school. Contact the school district itself. Contact the state representatives for that district. Go above the school, which is obviously a cesspit.

This principal also needs to be fired. The teachers behavior lacked complete appropriate moral behavior and what should be A HIGHER STANDARD that ALL TEACHERS ARE HELD TO AT ALL TIMES.

It reveals a great deal about who she is as a person. Should such a person be working with kids???
We will just keep calling and emailing the school then! pic.twitter.com/vlAKBnvEF4

@cabomagali at the Illinois State Board of education knows the process for firing is a complex maze that rarely leads to actual termination,

Public Chicago school teachers are a protected class, despite failing the kids miserably. Some say, there’s only one solution:
