Jesse Watters’ joke calling for US to bomb the U.N. has some libs clutching their pearls

Fox News’ Jesse Watters sent the left into a meltdown after he called malfunctions at the United Nations a form of “insurrection” and joked about bombing the New York City headquarters.

Watters was discussing President Donald Trump’s visit to the U.N. General Assembly this week and the problems he encountered when he made the remarks during Fox News’ “The Five.” The president encountered a teleprompter that did not work as he began his speech on Tuesday. That incident followed an earlier mishap when the escalator froze up, forcing Trump and First Lady Melania Trump to walk up the steps.

An article cited by Watters reported, “To mark Trump’s arrival, UN Staff members joked they may turn off the escalators and elevators… so he has to walk up the stairs.”

“This is an insurrection,” Watters told his co-hosts on “The Five,” accusing U.N. staffers of “sabotage.”

“What we need to do is either leave the U.N. or we need to bomb it,” he quipped.

“It is in New York, though, right? Could be some fallout there. Maybe gas it?” he added as his co-hosts off-camera could be heard chuckling and commenting.

“Let’s not do that,” Dana Perino interjected.

“Don’t gas it. OK, but we need to destroy it,” Watters said. “Maybe we can demolish the building? Have everybody leave, and then we’ll demolish the building.”

While his co-hosts suggested that the U.N. building be turned into “affordable housing,” Watters responded, “No, this is absolutely unacceptable, and I hope they get to the bottom of it, and I hope they really injure, emotionally, the people that did it.”

U.N. spokesman Stéphane Dujarric explained in a statement on Tuesday that “a videographer from the US delegation” had stepped onto the escalator ahead of the president and first lady, riding backwards, and “may have inadvertently triggered the safety function” at the top, causing the malfunction, which was reset by a technician on site.

Meanwhile, Watters’s remarks about the U.N. set off a meltdown on social media, where users raised the alarm over the network “openly flirting with domestic terrorism.”

“These people are insane,” an X user wrote.

“Jesse Watters condoned the bombing of the U.N. and MAGA is okay with it?! Threatening language! He must be FIRED!” another wrote.

Other X users quickly threw cold water on the left’s attempt to ignite a fire.
