Donald Trump sends message to Prince Harry during banquet speech with the King

President Donald Trump sparked speculation during his state banquet speech in England, as some thought he had taken a veiled jab at one member of the Royal Family.

Speaking highly of Prince William and King Charles III during his remarks, Trump made no mention of Prince Harry. While that may not have seemed surprising given that the younger son of Charles and the late Princess Diana was not in attendance at the formal gathering, Trump’s lavish praise of the Prince of Wales did get attention.

“I just want to say that His Majesty has also raised a remarkable son in His Royal Highness, Prince of Wales,” the president said. “Really amazing. We’ve gotten to know you, and I think you’re going to have an unbelievable success in the future.”

“Melania and I are delighted to visit again with Prince William and to see Her Royal Highness, Princess Catherine, so radiant and so healthy, so beautiful,” Trump added, glancing at a smiling Princess of Wales seated to his right at the Windsor Castle event.

Trump also praised the king, noting that he “has uplifted the poor, cared for rural farmers, and tended to wounded veterans like nobody else,” while not mentioning Harry, who, along with his wife, Meghan Markle, lives in California.

“This is despite former Army captain Harry having had huge success and impact by founding the Invictus Games – a sporting competition for wounded, injured and sick military personnel and veterans, which takes place every two years – in 2014,” Daily Mail reported. “Just last week the Duke of Sussex was in Ukraine for talks on improving support for serving personnel and veterans with life-changing injuries who are returning home.”

William and Kate greeted the Trumps as they arrived at Windsor Castle by helicopter.

Whether or not Trump meant to leave Harry’s name out of his speech, social media reacted with many users debating the topic on X.
