It’s “Florida man” for the win.
Kyle Myvett is crediting his Batman pajamas for giving him the extra boost of “confidence” he needed when he sprang into action to stop a thief.
“The neighbor, Kyle Myvett, told detectives he had gone to bed when his home security cameras alerted him to someone breaking into his vehicle. Still dressed in his Batman pajamas, Kyle went outside to investigate and saw the suspect rummaging through his truck,” the Cape Coral Police Department claimed in a statement. “Moments later, he found the same suspect in his neighbor’s garage and detained him until officers arrived.”
Myvett talked to local media about his experience.
“Without the [suspect] seeing me, I grabbed a hold of their shirt and right wrist and told him, ‘Listen, don’t try to get away, I have plenty of experience with this,’” said Myvett, who previously worked in corrections. “I’m really glad I had my Batman pajamas on because that gave me the extra confidence I needed.”
Cape Coral Police commended Myvett for his actions.
“Thanks to a quick-thinking neighbor in his Batman pajamas, another burglary suspect was put behind bars.”
The suspect, Justin Schimpl, who was reportedly already known by local police, currently stands accused of stealing jewelry, cash, gift cards, and two pairs of Ray-Ban sunglasses, along with other valuable items.

Talk about confidence Sometimes a little fun and self expression can give us the courage to do the right thing. Kudos to him for stepping up.
